Downtown Superior Multiuse Development Community – Foundation Walls

Summary Statement

Downtown Superior is a 156-acre development that will provide residential housing, flexible working spaces, diverse retail, dining, and entertainment with open space for active lifestyles. EdenCrete® Pz7 was utilized for extra strength in a mix that had less cement for sustainability considerations. This optimized mix was placed in the foundation walls for many of the townhomes, providing design strength with less cement used and less carbon dioxide emitted. The concrete was provided by Holcim (now Amrize) and placed by Pierson Concrete. This particular placement was completed in August 2024 in Superior, CO.

EdenCrete® Purpose

EdenCrete Pz7® was used in this mix to retain strength that is normally sacrificed when cement is removed and replaced with substitute cementitious materials. This strategy of mix optimization is often used for economic advantages and environmental considerations.
